NewAgeRipper - Updates on his condition - Positive vibes/energy his way please

yeah..we're all praying for him..

I don't know him as well as some members on this site..but what I've learned
about him over the years is he seems to be a good guy ..and right now he's
having a shitload of bad luck..it makes me angry..he's suffering and yet drug
dealers, murderers and other crap people are walking around no problem..

life certainly isn't fair sometimes
 
Update 22

Finally some good news. Michael's Medicaid has been approved! They wanted to discharge him again today but I would not have it. I talked to the caseworker and explained that they had 3 facilities they could refer him to based on one of his doctor’s recommendations. She came back later and said they had cancelled the discharge and would try to get him into a rehab facility. Hopefully by Monday we will get him admitted to a rehab. Thank you all so much for your prayers and moral support. We still need you to pray that he gets into a good facility that will help him recover even more.

Update 23

From Michael's mum

Just a short update on Michael.
He is still in the hospital awaiting acceptance to a rehab facility.
We are not sure what the hold up is, except that Medicaid has to approve it. I called the floor he is on this morning and was able to talk to him. Unfortunately, with his hearing loss and the interference with the signal, he could not hear me very good, so he couldn't talk long. The best thing was hearing his voice, hearing him call me mother, and remembering that his sister was sick and couldn't come visit him. I would be up there next week, but before we hung up he said he would try to call me back later when he could get a phone to work. I said "I love you", and he said "I love you too mom". God continues to bless us and work miracles. Thank you all for your continued prayers.

Update 24

Michael has been moved to a Care Home with physical therapy available.

Michael's sister...

151 days ago, he didn't have a clue,
that today he would gladly say goodbye to 2022.
From his accident in August, he couldn't wake, talk or move,
look at him now at how much he's improved.
He's entered into his next chapter where he can finally learn to walk again,
He'll even be able to socialize and make a few new friends.
So don't take your life for granted because it could change in an instant,
and everything you once knew, could be
nonexistent.

This is a picture of the crash site from the "other side" of the tree. I don't want to show the close ups out of respect for Michael and family. Keep him in your thoughts.

Michael's sister ...

We had the final hearing today that granted me guardianship over my brother.
Look down this road. You couldn't count the number of trees. What are the odds that he was in this exact spot at this exact moment.
A lot of lives were changed in this split second in August.
It was at this time; summer really did collapse into fall. (Oscar Wilde)
The worst is behind him. Now he will continue to navigate his new life with a brain injury and learning to use his leg again.
I know this isn't the worst that could happen to someone but the odds of him surviving his injuries were nil, and especially, on this road with just one falling tree at the same time he would be passing through. God had other plans.

The damn timing on that one, me and my family are still rooting for him on his long path to recovery.

Hasn't been much change. Michael is still in a care home. He seems to be making some progress, albeit slow.

How to Make your Cousin Mad 101......Take him to the park and make him walk! After some complaining, excuses, a near fight between the two of us, a semi-long rest break, and more encouragement he made it around the smaller loop. He did good!!

He's out and about. I've spoken to him on FaceBook a couple of times.

I was speaking with him for a while on Facebook. But then someone hijacked his profile, and I haven't heard from him since. It's probably been a year since I heard from him.

I had his facebook page bookmarked in my browser and went to check in on him and now his profile is some woman. Stealing someones profile is trashy as it is but to steal one from someone going through a crisis is just low life as it gets.
