Cubase Gone Mental!!!

Right I am posting here to see if anyone can shed any light on this crazy problem that has just decided to happen to me.

I consider myself an experienced user of this program, but I am really stumped with this....

OK,if I want to process an audio file, either sample or vocal, the normal procedure is make sure the file is selected, click audio, then process, then whatever audio process one wishes to apply (ie time stretch,reverse.....etc)

The problem I am having is that no audio process will work whatsoever and it is driving me nuts!

There is a preview button and if I press this I can hear the process I am applying, and how it will sound, but as soon as I hit the process button nothing happens.

There is very little on the web about it,tried all the usual crap like defaulting preferences, loading other projects where my process's worked but to no avail. Its all fucked up ah huh huh.

Any ideas anyone?

from the looks of it YOU'VE gone cuckoo. the program isn't self-aware. it's 99% always the user's fault because he sux at uzing it :), that's why I had to perfect the paddle over time.

these problems can sometimes be solved by uninstalling and reinstalling, instead of reinstalling on top of the existing installation. I've tried that enough times myself to testify to that. defaulting preferences doesn't always fix it. a clean reinstallation is the only way to be sure. if not, then you have to look at any general system changes you made to your rig. you'd surprised what can make a difference in seemingly unrelated software.

haha I know! Usually the users fault but this was such a strange problem....

it was like the audio processing engine was there but it just wouldn't work.My hdd crashed recently so I had to move my project folder.I moved it twice before I decided on a good location and in doing this somehow it managed to stuff things up.I moved the folder back to the first location and everything was ok.

No way was i reinstalling! But a few good pointers here on this thread!

1 - Don't let your hdd break

2 - Don't be so picky about where you put things

3 - Try to always remember what you have done (very tough)

4 - If shit ain't broke don't fix it

5 - Donoghue has a paddle

6 - He is not a Jedi

7 - Daz is a legend

:D

calling ME a town gimp and yet you're showing yourself in a one-piece suit. I know you like to portray yourself as kinky, but erm.......everything in moderation, hmm? and I don't even think your pic is PG

Aww cheers m8!

I kinda already knew that though, you didn't have to let the entire world know!

I got one better than that, making it public myself, like the phone call you received from me. my truth is out, now yours is too. mind you, I had to put on 200 pounds and bleach my hair for the purposes of this call. TOP THAT!!
