Kanye West - Love Lockdown (Elektro Tech Mix)

Hey guys,

I have been working on this forever. I know I know its a bit out dated in terms of "this song has been done to death". But I liked the way this was shaping up and hence I wanted to finish it. Your thoughts ofcourse are most welcome:

thanks DF :) Its done after like 9-10 months of starting it! I had to stop start so many times what with my son being born and all. But getting round to it so :)

9-10 months well spent i think mate. I like the way the vocals are mid-beat instead of in the original with the irregular kicks.

thanks Sunny. I'll take a look at the echo/delay. Yea the bassline was one of the best I had. its off a sample pack actually. I just completely ripped it up and got the end up product :) As for the widening of the bass, I'll see if I can automate the low/high pass. Its all Sylenth1 baby ;)

Okay, so done to death? Maybe, but I've NEVER heard it like that before. I agree, I like the off-beat syncopative elements lyrics-to-melody/beat thing you have going...never heard that before...one idea I had is at the 2:12 mark, if you wanted to turn it into a Dutch house track one day, that mark would be perfect to put that horn-sequence sound right there...I love the sequencing at the 3 minute mark...layered and very pretty indeed. More build up at the 4 minute to 4:15 mark...unless you're trying to be subtle...but I love the drone in the background...very rhythmic, very (tribal? Street-ish?). You're clearly a percussively-oriented fellow, the layering of the percussion elements is fantastic, exactly as I'd have done it (congas...love the congas...perfect little accent 8th notes...) Overall, beautifully done!!!
