American Idiot (Song) backing vocals misplaced?

I've noticed that American Idiot has no backing vocals but at about 6:00 into Homecoming, in the background there's "Don't wanna be an American Idiot".

The line has nothing to do with the subject of Tre's part of the song so maybe it was just misplaced?
